Tropical Horizons is for sale!

Yes, you read correctly.  By now if you have read all of our previous posts you will know that Karen and I have acquired Tropical Horizons II, hence the change in our blog name as well as re-launching our You Tube Channel.  It is time to say goodbye to Tropical Horizons and hope that she will continue exploring the waters and take her new owners on many great new adventures.  As we begin to make plans for Tropical Horizons II we can look back at our time aboard Tropical Horizons with a bit of sadness as we have put so much of ourselves into her.

To recap here is a short list of the improvements we made to her over the 6 years we sailed her.

I'm sure there are a few small projects that I must have missed, but I think that list just about captures most of them.  You know when I look back at it, we did a lot of things to really make Tropical Horizons our home, but when we initially purchased her, it was as an entry into the power cruising world, to see if this was something that we wanted.

So why are we changing things up?  After we put so much time and effort into Tropical Horizons to make her ours, why put her up for sale?  Well the truth of the matter is that Karen and I do plan on selling everything we have and making our boat our home.  Tropical Horizons is a wonderful boat and we love spending time aboard, but she is just a bit too small for everything that we would like to move from our land home to our water home.  Since we have decided that we will not have any storage lockers on land besides one that we will temporarily have to keep a few items for our daughter until she establishes herself.  Our intention is to live aboard Tropical Horizons II while restoring her and maintaining her with the ultimate goal of completing the Great Loop, and ultimately offering charters to couples and families who want to step back in time and experience life aboard a vintage yacht.

We have had such a good experience with Curtis Stokes and Associates that we have decided to list Tropical Horizons with them.  Curtis has had a good look at Tropical Horizons and has a listing on his site.  So if you are interested in exploring what power cruising is all about, Tropical Horizons is an affordable entry into this lifestyle that will take you to far off destinations safely.
