The new season begins!

Since my last post, some exciting things have happened.  First of all it seems like summer has finally made it here .... sort of.  The spring has been very wet and so far, colder than usual and it seems that summer is shaping up to be more of the same.  On the bright side, we are in the water and have been for about two months now.

The spring cleaning season began with a newly rebuilt engine for Tropical Horizons.  Besides a few small issues, the engine is running well and we are pleased with the work.  We managed to get underway and out of Crates Belleville Marina on the morning of April 29th.  The trip was in nice and calm weather although a bit cool, but we dressed for it and had a very nice ride back to our home port at the Trent Port Marina.  Karen and I took some video of the trip and I will get that up on our YouTube channel shortly.

Since arriving here in Trenton, we've been down almost every weekend getting Tropical Horizons ready for the boating season: cleaning, maintaining her systems, and getting our newest crewman Mack accustomed to life afloat.  We rescued him over the winter and he is slowly adapting to life aboard Tropical Horizons.

I've had a few projects that I've been working on such as a davit system for loading the dinghy on and off of the fore deck.  We've also finally gone through the process of registering Tropical Horizons and officially renamed her such.  The back story here is that her original name was Paradise Island and after many years of searching Karen and I finally came up with Tropical Horizons as well as the logo you see today.  We also performed the retirement of her old name and renaming ceremony that I will post to YouTube as well.  I am also going to make it a point of making weekly entries to our post as we are here almost every weekend.  The project pages will be added to during the winter months so that we always have some fresh content.  With that I will sign off for now and see you on the water.
